I have long believed that the best questions are the ones that take a life-time to answer. As a former classroom teacher, administrator, Catholic Priest, communications specialist, podcast host, film producer, operations director, special event coordinator, board member, fund-raiser, website builder (and the list could go on), I have lived life so that I never have to ask “what if?”

I believe in taking risks but I am not reckless. I love history, data, and stories – especially when they make me consider a different point of view.
Many have said that I am a bit of a renaissance man, which is probably true, but I think it really means that I love to live life fully, learn, and live with a sense of duty and purpose so that I may increase and transform the gifts I have received to others.
I grew up in Houston, Texas, but have lived and traveled across much of the world. I am an immigrant to Canada, and used to live as a member of an international religious community of men. As a result I deeply appreciate diversity and culture and all that it entails. I am also a person of deep faith and social justice, and firmly believe that atheism is the privilege of the wealthy and powerful. After all, where do we put our trust when we run up against power that we cannot change in our lifetime?
I believe that holiness is the fruit of living an authentic humanity – in all of its beauty; as well as in those most vulnerable, raw, messy moments that remind us we are not in control of our lives.
I thrive in creative environments though I need data-driven decision-making. I don’t care much for titles or hierarchy, though I know how to work with them. My preference is to be behind the scenes though I can sit in the spotlight when others need me there.
I love to cook, run, tend to my many plants, read, write and learn. I am surrounded by loved ones at home and a community that reminds me to ensure our home is a place of hospitality, love and service to others.
